Travel Tuesday

Travel Tuesday by Katie from Loving This Adventure is a weekly newsletter that lands in your inbox every Tuesday to help busy moms plan doable and worth-it family vacations. Each issue blends practical travel tips, realistic packing advice, and mindset shifts that take the pressure off “perfect trips.” You’ll find encouragement, inspiration, and smart strategies to help you feel confident about traveling with your kids—because family adventures don’t have to be flawless to be unforgettable.

’Tis the week before winter break…

And if you feel like your brain is juggling a hundred things at once, you’re not alone. I am right there with you!

This week is full. Christmas plans, school events, and last-minute to-dos. For many families, travel is mixed in too.

Whether you’re flying somewhere, hopping in the car for a short trip, or just heading to Grandma’s for the day, it can all start to feel like a lot.

So today, I want to keep this simple.

If you are traveling at any point over break, here’s my Winter Break Travel Survival Kit. Nothing fancy. Just a few things that make it easier to stay calm and roll with the day.

This email may contain affiliate or referral links. They cost you nothing to use, but I may earn a small commission or bonus that helps support my travel content business. Thank you for being here. It truly means so much.

Winter Break Travel Survival Kit:

✔️ A snack bag that lives in your car or carry-on
✔️ A small trash bag or even a couple plastic shopping bags (this one thing saves my sanity)
✔️ Fully charged devices + multiple chargers
✔️ Wipes. Always wipes. For messes, spills, and sticky hands.
✔️ One backup outfit per kid (even for short trips)
✔️ A tiny medicine pouch (pain reliever, band-aids, motion sickness meds)

Mindset for December

Here’s the mindset I want every mom to hear this week:

You don’t have to do it all. And none of it has to be perfect.

✔️That goes for Christmas. 🎄
✔️That goes for travel. ✈️
✔️That goes for motherhood in general. 🙋‍♀️

The goal isn’t flawless plans or stress-free days. The goal is finding small moments where you can pause, be present, and soak it in. The car conversations. The giggles in the back seat. The memories being made in between the chaos.

When you simplify and let go of perfection, you leave more room for those moments. And those are the ones that matter most. ❤️
