Happy Tuesday! 👋 In just about a week, we'll be loading up the van and heading west for our biggest road trip of the summer... Yellowstone! 🦬 And honestly? I think the week before a trip might be one of my favorite parts. Not because it's relaxing (it's definitely not 😅). But because it's when the excitement really starts to build. This week I've been checking over all of our reservations one last time, making sure our overnight stops are set, and looking over our daily plans. They're definitely not set in stone. I've learned over the years that having a flexible plan is so much better than trying to schedule every minute. For me, planning isn't about creating a perfect itinerary. It's about becoming familiar enough with a destination that I can be flexible once we get there. One thing I'm especially excited to try on this trip is the GuideAlong app. I downloaded the Yellowstone audio tour, and as we drive through the park, it'll tell us about the history, wildlife, geology, and interesting stops along the way. I'm hoping it'll make those longer drives through the park just as much a part of the adventure as the hikes and viewpoints. I'm also starting to stock the car with road trip snacks. Beef sticks. Pretzels. Apples. Yogurt pouches. Plenty of water. One of the things I love most about taking a road trip instead of flying is that we can bring all the little things that make traveling with four boys easier. And somewhere in the middle of all of this... I'm reminded that the vacation doesn't really begin when we arrive. It starts in these little moments beforehand. Around the kitchen table. Looking at maps. Packing snacks. Counting down the days. Dreaming together about what's ahead. And I think that's one of my favorite parts of traveling as a family. 💛 Stay tuned for more packing tips, behind-the-scenes travel hacks, and inspiration to make your trips feel doable and fun. I’m all about helping you make family travel as smooth as possible, so you can create memories without the headache.
