It may still be winter and frigid 🥶 but in our house, we’re already dreaming about summer travels. ☀️

There’s just something about sitting down and mapping out a road trip that gets me excited—choosing the route, picking fun stops along the way, and knowing we have the freedom to take our time. 🚗 🛣 🤗

One of my favorite road trips we’ve taken as a family was from Iowa to Niagara Falls.

We could have flown, sure, but driving let us experience so much more.

We saw different towns and cities, stopped to check out the University of Notre Dame, visited the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, stretched our legs at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and just enjoyed the journey together. 🍀 🎸 🥾

And that’s exactly why road trips have become my favorite way to travel. There’s something special about the freedom and spontaneity that comes with being on the open road.

Here are just a few reasons why I love road-tripping with my family:

• Flexibility: You’re in control—stop when you want, eat where you want, and take detours if something looks interesting.
• Scenery & Small-Town Stops: There’s something special about seeing more than just the major cities. Some of our best travel memories come from unexpected roadside finds!
• Quality Family Time: Long drives bring out the best conversations (and maybe a few rounds of “are we there yet?”).
• The Adventure Factor: No two road trips are ever the same!
