Hi Reader!

We just got home from our spring break trip to 30A in Florida.🌴 ☀️ 🌊 I had never been to this area before and absolutely loved it!

We will be going back. Stay tuned for some posts all about 30A! 🙌

We arrived home around midnight on Friday night and were exhausted!

Coming home from a family trip is always a mix of relief and chaos.

The kids are tired (I am tired), the suitcases are a mess, and real life is waiting. But over the years, I’ve learned that one simple thing makes all the difference after a trip—I unpack right away. 🧳

I used to let suitcases sit for days (okay, maybe weeks), but now I make it a priority to unpack as soon as possible.

It helps us reset faster and makes the transition back to normal life so much smoother.

If we get home late, I focus on just getting the kids to bed—PJs, toothbrushes, and sound machines ready to go.

Then, I muster whatever energy I have to do a little unpacking before heading to bed. That way, I can tackle the rest first thing in the morning and avoid living out of suitcases all week.

Here’s how I do it (quickly!):

Sort laundry immediately—I dump dirty clothes straight into the washer so I don’t end up with a mountain of laundry later.

✅ Use packing cubes to speed things up—I bring each person's packing cube(s) to their room for a quick unpack and put away, then store the cubes for the next trip.

Unpack small items right away—Shoes go back in the closet, coats get hung up, and travel accessories (like neck pillows or headphones) get stored so they’re not cluttering the house.

Restock travel bags—Refill toiletries, stash extra snacks, and put chargers back in my travel bag or storage spot so it’s ready for the next trip.

Clean out the car—If we road-tripped, I do a quick sweep of trash and random kid items (why do they leave socks everywhere? 😂).

This routine takes about an hour, but it makes a huge difference in feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the week ahead.

It is a GAME-CHANGER!

Do you have a go-to post-trip routine? Reply and let me know—I’d love to hear your best tips!

P.S. Next week, I’ll be sharing a recap of our Spring Break trip—what worked, what didn’t, and what I’d do differently. Stay tuned!
